KEB COMBIVERT G6: New frequency inverter series from KEB

Highly integrated and ready-for-connection worldwide All important tasks for controlled motors solved by a compact unit: KEB COMBIVERT G6 has been tailored by KEB Antriebstechnik primarily for the series business. The new inverter series was presented by the enterprise from Barntrup for the first time on the PLC/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg end of November 2009. The goal of the development work: Ready-for-connection all-in-one solutions in the power range of 0.75 up to 30 kW with a high degree of integration as well as maximum variability for current and future technologies.

No need to unpack first and then be faced with the mounting of delicate optional modules or plug-in cards: The flexible production provides the basis in order to supply KEB COMBIVERT G6 in its four sizes exactly in the configuration required by the customer – completely preset and extensively tested down to the last unit.

Since “downgrading” is easier than extensive upgrading, all functions and fittings are part of the series extent of KEB COMBIVERT G6. One example is the drive-based “Safe Torque Off” (STO) according to EN 13849-1 performance level “e”, a second example is the integrated EMC-solution for C1- and C2-environments according to EN 61800-3 with long motor cables up to 100 meter.

KEB has technologically advanced the good characteristics of the existing series and the proven sensorless motor control procedure with the 32 Bit microcontrollers. Easy handling of high functionality: The series also scores with its ease of use – among other things through the multilingual LCD plain text display with an intuitively usable menu structure in the background.

Through the fast input and output scanning of the 32-pole control terminal, dynamic start-stop applications with a high repeat accuracy of the movement profile can be achieved. Standard fittings of the KEB COMBIVERT G6 are brake control, braking chopper as well as eight parameter sets, which completely programmed increase the functional range substantially – up to the partial acceptance of superior PLC-tasks. Communication takes place via the optional interfaces for CAN and as another future-oriented variant EtherCAT.

Typical application examples for this series are food productions with high breakaway torques, packaging plants with fast setpoint processing and controlled positioning, conveying systems with long lines, passenger elevators with constant speed under load changes and also compressors with output frequencies up to 800 Hz.
