YASKAWA at Fachpack.

YASKAWA developed the latest MOTOMAN GP FGG robot series with the food industry in mind (FGG stands for “food grade grease”). The latter is an industry-specific version of the GP series that comprises compact high-performance handling robots for packaging and general handling applications. Only lubricants that have been approved for use in food production are used the new FGG variant. Furthermore, the straight-line contours of the robot, designed completely in protective class IP67, ensure that liquids can run freely off the surface. The four available 6-axis robot models, currently available for payloads of 7 to 25 kg, are thus ideal for secondary and tertiary packing stages.

Simple integration of high-performance servo drives:
YASKAWA servo drives are among the most compact and at the same time most efficient servo systems available on the market. Particularly in the smaller power ranges, they demonstrate their strengths in packaging machines. According to the motto “Parameterizing instead of programming” at FachPack YASKAWA will be showing how the powerful systems can be integrated by simple means into the existing control concepts of various established vendors. In addition to increased machine throughput, this means advantages for the user in start-up and implementation. The scalable solution is suitable for synchronous and non-synchronous applications with up to 64 axes.

Fast picking in confined spaces with HRC-capable hybrid robots:
Further topics at YASKAWA’s FachPack stand will be fast picking in confined spaces and the use of HRC-capable hybrid robots for semi-automated packaging. Thanks to its parallel kinematics, the MOTOMAN MPP3S high-speed robot thus combines the speed of the delta construction with a high payload of up to 3 kg. Despite its compact design, the MPP3S distinguishes itself by a broad work range.

In contrast, the HRC-capable MOTOMAN HC10 hybrid robot lends itself to simple, space-saving integration into safety concepts without a guard rail. It can also be quickly and flexibly adapted to various pick-and-place applications, as it is programmed via the robot arm and by using the smart pendant. Additional function keys close to the flange make this “easy teaching” possible. In the displayed show cell, reliable switching between industrial and collaborating speed with the use of external safety technology (e.g. a scanner) can contribute to maximizing output. The new smart pendant is the latest generation of programmers to be introduced by YASKAWA. Particularly for the young generation of operators, it offers a visual and intuitive access to all functions.
