For Baumüller, energy-efficient drives and what they cost throughout their entire life cycle have always been important, and are becoming increasingly so. Its servo motors and converters have been meeting and exceeding the criteria of the highest efficiency class, EFF1, for many years now.
A crucial factor in terms of increasing energy efficiency is Baumüller’s wide range of motor products. In order to help its customers select the most energy-efficient drives, the company has developed different product series for all manner of applications and offers various motor types with precise output gradations. The energy reserves required in the system can be limited further, as both synchronous and asynchronous motor series feature a number of gradations in the speed and power ranges.
The different motor types can, therefore, by operated in various applications with maximum energy efficiency, i.e., at the rated operating point. Motors are selected in accordance with the application-specific motion profiles: for example, Baumüller’s DS and DA motors function as main drives that have been optimized in terms of power, which offer maximum efficiency as energy transducers, efficiently converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. Motors can also be specifically selected for a high load variation at the lowest possible inertia (DSD series).
