Baumüller, a Nuremberg specialist in drive and automation solutions, launches the new series of servo motors DSP with nominal speeds of up to 6,000 min-1.

The Baumüller Group has developed the new DSP motor series especially for high speeds. These DSP motors supplement the existing DSC series, reaching nominal speeds of up to 6,000 min-1. The speed spectrum of the servo motors has been extended by adding additional construction sizes.

The features of the new DSP motors are identical to those of the existing, compact DSC synchronous motors and the DSD series of dynamic servo motors. This means that the mechanical and electrical interfaces of all three series concur. When it comes to cooling options, these three series offer the same choice between uncooled, air-cooled and water-cooled motors. Thus an engineer can freely choose the motor characteristics required for each machine, without having to take differences into account during integration. Baumüller DSP motors are particularly suitable for use in handling axles or processing machines, not only because of their nominal speeds of 6,000 min-1, but also because of their good acceleration and overload capacities. Where cycle times are short, the DSP customer can profit from high dynamics and thus maximum productivity.

The new DSP motors also cut a fine figure when used in Baumüller servo pumps. Various cooling options are available, as is an improved performance range.

Their robust, smooth and dirt-repellent housing surface makes DSP motors suitable for use in rough industrial environments. Irrespective of the type of cooling used, the DSP motors are available in protection classes up to IP65. In line with the DSC and DSD2 motors, these have almost no standstill torque, run very smoothly and allow for individual generator configuration, depending on the customer-specific application requirements.

This has resulted in the optimal integration of the DSP motor series into the product portfolio of Baumüller servo motors, with the machine profiting from maximum flexibility.
