Bonfiglioli Group – since 1956 a world leader in industrial automation solutions presents with the new AEC Series Active Front End Modules an effective solution to reduce operation costs of drive systems.

For many applications Active Front End Modules are having significant advantages for the operation of drive systems:

• Brake energy is not converted to heat energy by braking resistors but is actively feed back into the supply net

o Especially for lifting applications there is high cost saving potential due to the energy that is fed back to the net

o The big brake resistors are not necessary

o Lower heat dissipation

• Due to the actively controlled DC bus synchronous motors can be operated in the optimal supply voltage and efficiency

Especially for applications where many brake energy occurs like lifting or high bay warehouses the energy savings in operation are significant.

Depending on the application the Modules can be configured for sinusoidal or block feed current getting the most effective and cost optimized configuration for any application. The AEC Active Front end modules are available in 6 frame sizes with Power range from 5,5KW up to 400KW. Several options like communication for any industrial networks or water cooled versions are part of the complete AEC portfolio.
