The VLT HVAC Drive FC 102 frequency converter has just been awarded the prestigious Singapore Green Building Products certification with the score “Excellent” and 3 tick marks.
To achieve the certification, compliance with 13 stringent qualifications was required. All these demands were met with Danfoss’ existing systems and product capabilities, adapted to fit the needs of the Singapore Green Building Council.
Evidence gathered from throughout Danfoss’ technical organisation included:
- Independent testing, proving energy efficiency of greater than the 95%. The efficiency of the VLT HVAC Drive FC 102 is between 96 and 99%, depending on the power size of the VSD.
- Built-in motor control law, the Advanced Energy Optimization (AEO), which analyses motor and cables, and supplies only the current needed in order to meet demand
- Built-in PID controller function
- Noise emission level not exceeding 85 dBA
- Compliance with RoHS and REACH
- Compliance with IEC/EN 61000-3-12, with THDi level of less than 48%
- ISO 14001 certification
- Safety function to ensure the motor stops, and to prevent accidental restart
- Enhanced performance or innovations that contribute to green building
- This certification opens doors to new opportunities, enabling Danfoss to compete on public civil engineering projects such as airport or metro development. Some of these projects are already in the pipeline – so keep an eye on this spot!
