The Hyundai Electro Electric Syst
ems Division has developed compact industrial- purpose inverters (HiRUN N300 series), which are less than half the size of ordinary inverters. These N300 series inverters primarily function as speed control devices for electric motors used in fan, pump, blower, lift and factory automation equipments.
Recently, three models made up of 75 types that range from 5.5 to 160kW in capacity have been released for sale. In particular, because these inverters use a special control algorithm known as “sensorless vector control” to manage the size and frequency of output current, electric motors can be driven at over 200% torque even when frequency is as low as 0.5Hz. In addition, auto-tuning to effectively perform sensorless vector control is available both on-line and off-line.
